Specialties
Betrayal trauma: Betrayal trauma occurs when someone we trust deeply—such as a partner, family member, or close friend—violates that trust in a significant way. This type of trauma can leave lasting emotional, mental, and relational wounds, often resulting in feelings of confusion, shame, fear, or questioning your worth. Healing from betrayal trauma involves finding a safe space to process the pain, rebuild your sense of trust, and rediscover your own strength and resilience. As a trained partner trauma therapist we can walk through this journey together.
Identity work: Shame can create false narratives about who you are, leaving you stuck in self-doubt, fear, or hiding your true self. Identity work helps you uncover these stories, separate them from your authentic self, and build self-acceptance, confidence, and resilience.
Brain Health: Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all influenced by the brain’s wiring and how it responds to stress and experiences. Counseling for brain health focuses on understanding these patterns, regulating the nervous system, and developing strategies that support mental clarity, emotional balance, and overall well-being.
Walk-and-Talk Therapy: Walk-and-Talk is a form of psychotherapy while walking outdoors in public places. I offer walk-and-talk sessions as an optional treatment modality. Walk and talk therapy combines exercise with psychotherapy, offering a an alternative to traditional sessions. Movement during therapy may help clients relax, open up, and think more creatively. Walking side-by-side, especially outdoors, can also help from feeling "stuck" and be more present.
Group Therapy
Shock, denial, anger, and grief are just a few emotions felt when betrayal occurs. This group creates a safe place for individuals to find community and learn how to rebuild after betrayal. Even supportive people in your life may try to understand what you are going through, unfortunately the wrong words are used or what they believe is the timeline should be in your healing. You don’t have to face this journey alone—here, you’ll find community, understanding, and the tools to move forward.
Rebuilding Softer
Shame can leave deep, invisible scars, shaping how we see ourselves and relate to others. In this group, Rebuilding Softer provides a safe, supportive space to explore the false narratives that hold us back, separate shame from our authentic selves, and practice self-compassion. Together, participants build connection, resilience, and a gentler, more empowered sense of identity.
As a certified coach through the Amen clinic, I offer groups centered around the brain and how to take care of it. Using Dr. Amen’s model of the 4 circles, we explore ways to become healthier from the inside out- biologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually. By focusing on all four areas, you can improve overall mental well-being.
Brain Health
Have you ever gotten to the end of an hour of therapy, and wanted more time. Individual therapy is a great tool to help individuals meet therapy goals, but intensives take the momentum that occurs in therapy, without losing that thought.
After my own experiences, I found solitude in retreats and intensives. Through extensive trainings and research, I have created a curriculum and schedule that would offer clients an intimate opportunity for healing and growth.
Intensives are tailored to you and your needs. Individual intensives are 6 hours a day. Group intensives span 2 days, starting on Friday at 1pm and wrapping up on Saturday at 3:30pm. Each intensive is experiential in nature – including art, expressive arts, EMDR, etc. – to help you meet your goals. Equine therapy may also be a part of your intensive process.
Intensives are located in Greensboro and Asheboro.
